and took away value.
Ac froze up the other day and rather than spend the 300 to 400 in parts I estimated to fix it. I found a Chinesium delete kit for 45 bucks.
If the car was worth more (2010 P71) I’d of fixed it properly but ac quit about a year ago and it’s really just my winter beater so what the hell.
It was actually kind of fun working on something you don’t really care about.

This is how I feel working on my truck. It’s so liberating!
( That reminds me, my AC clutch is still rocking these zip ties . I shou ld check on them, make sure they’re not stretching or anything.)

No a/c is fine e xcept when you have to defog the inside of the windshield. The a/c pulls the moisture out of the air before the heater re-heats it. That way you have warm dry air instead of warm wet air blowing on the windshield. It may not be an issue where you live, but it’s a real headache when the a/c quits in cold/wet climates.

Fun fact the HVAC system in E28's is setup so it’s impossible for A/C to come out of the foot or windshield vents, and it’s impossible for warm air to come out of the people vents. I’m assuming same goes for the E24 and possibly the E23.

That's good better than just pulling the fuse when it makes noise.

Truth! Broke the front bolts on the skid plate well we'll just use the angle grinder to cut back one off.

Well, whaddaya know. I had a/c issues in my first Mazda truck. The temp sensor went out, so the compressor wouldn’t cycle on its own . It was down to manual control. This really be came an issue one cool rainy day in Houston. I had the defroster on to keep the fog off the windows, but I had to cycle the a/c off and on every few minutes. Leave it off too long and warm, wet air would cause condensation on the inside of the windows. Leave it on too long and the glass would cool down enough to cause condensation on the outside of the windows. That wasn’t too bad on the windshield, but once the side windows fogged up on the outside, we were in trouble.

Value is overrated. Lightness is all.
